According to the Jewish cabala, Malashiel is the angelic guardian of Elijah. Elijah is believed to be immortal in Jewish traditions.

Malik

Malik is believed to be a foreboding guardian angel of Hell in Islamic folklore. A fallen angel in Arabic lore, Malik is said to be one of 19 guardians of Hell. He tells pleading souls in Hell that they must stay there forever.

Malkiel

The angel Malkiel is a celestial prince who serves beneath Sephuriron. He is one of three angelic guardians, alongside Ithuriel and Nashriel. According to Ozar Midrashim, Malkiel is one of many guardian angels of the gates of the South Wind.

Matafiel

Hechaloth Rabbati states that there are seven guardian angels assigned to the second Heaven, and the angel Matafiel is one of them.

Mataqiel

It is noted in Hechaloth Rabbati that seven angelic guardians watch over the first Heaven, and Mataqiel is one of them.

Mehiel

According to the cabala, Mehiel is the guardian angel of academic professors, authors and orators. Mehiel’s corresponding angel is Astiro.

Mika’il is an angel of Islamic lore, and angelic guardian summoned during rites of exorcism. This angel is also known as Mihhael or Michael.

Modiel is one of the many guardian angels found at the gates of the East Wind, and noted in Ozar Midrashim II, 316.
